BOYS & GIRLS INTERESTED IN PLAYING CRICKET
Our established Junior Section can accommodate boys and girls from age 5 to 15 with different forms of cricket available 12 months of the year.
Our Summer season commences in late April until the August Bank holiday with a weekly coaching and practice session and limited over matches, usually on a Sunday morning, in local competitions and friendly games against other clubs in the area.
From May to July we also run 2 ECB recognised programmes. All Stars Cricket is for 5 to 8 year olds which is run on Saturday mornings from 9.30am to 10.30am. Dynamos Cricket is for All Stars graduates and beginners aged 8 to 11. This is run on a Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 7.45pm.
From October through till February we enter age groups teams in the local 6 a side indoor competition which runs on Friday evenings at local schools and leisure centres. Matches take place on average every 3 weeks.
As a lead into the next Summer season we also arrange some indoor training and net sessions, usually on a Sunday afternoon at Forest School, from the beginning of February.
We have a very clear and easy to understand 3 part philosophy in the Junior Section:
1. Increase Participation: provide and encourage opportunities for children of all backgrounds and abilities to participate in cricket.
2. Encourage Fun and Enjoyment: develop a coaching and playing environment that is positive, fun, individual and team orientated.
3. Develop Potential: encourage and assist children with their personal development enabling them to realise their full potential in the sport.
